I George Godfree of Broad Rissington in the county of Gloucestershire Farmer do herby revoke all wills and testamentary depositions by me heretofore made and do make and publish this only for my last will I direct my debts funeral and testamentary expences [sic] to be paid out of my personal estate I give and bequeath unto my wife Mary Godfree all the household furniture plate linen and china in my present dwelling house for her use during her life and after her decease I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my son George Godfree I give and devise unto my said wife all that my freehold messuages garden and close with their appurtenances situate at Broad Rissington aforesaid and in my occupation to hold the same unto my said wife and her assigns during her life and after her decease I give and devise the same messuages garden and close with their appurtenances unto my said son George Godfree his heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah the wife of William Newman of Broad Rissington aforesaid the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to her a vested interest at my decease and paid at the expiration of twelve months from that event but without interest I give and bequeath unto my said wife the weekly sum of eight shillings for and during her life which I direct shall be paid to her on Monday in every week by my said son the first of such payments to be made on Monday next after my decease and I charge my estate both real and personal with the payment of the same and whereas I have already given to my son George Godfree all my farming stock crops implements in husbandry and the plate linens china books household furniture dairy and brewing utensils in upon and about his dwelling house and farm for his own use and benefit I herby give devise and bequeath unto my said son George Godfree all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects both real and personal xxxx or to which I or any person or persons in trust for and shall at my decease be seized possessed or entitled in possession reversion remainder or expectancy to hold the same unto my said son George Godfree his heirs executors and assigns respectively according to respective natures thereof and I appoint my son George Godfree sole executor of this my will In witness whereof I the said George Godfree the testator have to this my last will and testament set my hand the eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty one
Signed by the testator George Godfree in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other and herewith set our names as witnesses thereto
